Six journalists were detained over weekend. Two people weren’t released

On Sep­tem­ber 6, three jour­nal­ists were detained in Min­sk, Vit­seb­sk, and Mahileu.

In Min­sk, dur­ing the crack­down of demon­stra­tors, secu­ri­ty forces detained Art­sy­om Siz­intsau, a jour­nal­ist of Radio Racy­ja and a mem­ber of the Belaru­sian Asso­ci­a­tion of Jour­nal­ists. He was tak­en to the police depart­ment.  A report for par­tic­i­pa­tion in demon­stra­tion was drawn up. The tri­al is on Mon­day.

Bela­PAN cor­re­spon­dent Ales Asipt­sou was detained in Mahilou. The jour­nal­ist was wear­ing a vest with the inscrip­tion “press” and had ID.  Ales was released from the police depart­ment.

Jour­nal­ist Zmitser Kaza­ke­vich was detained in Vit­seb­sk, he worked dur­ing the protest march. The jour­nal­ist was sent to a deten­tion cen­ter for the night. And then at 4 am Kaza­ke­vich was released.

On Sep­tem­ber 5, three deten­tions were record­ed.

Bel­sat jour­nal­ists Mak­sim Harchanok and Ale­na Dubovik were detained by secu­ri­ty forces in Min­sk. They were charged with work with­out accred­i­ta­tion (Arti­cle 22.9 of the Admin­is­tra­tive Code), and their mobile phones and video cam­eras were con­fis­cat­ed. The jour­nal­ists were released.

Jour­nal­ist Nas­ta Zakhare­vich was detained dur­ing the protest. She was tak­en to the Cen­tral police depart­ment Min­sk. Nas­ta accused of tak­ing part in an unau­tho­rized street demon­stra­tion.
