Four journalists detained on Sunday. Two were not released and are to be tried
On Sunday, November 29, police detained journalists in Minsk and Brest during the coverage and after the protests.
In Brest, traffic police stopped the car with reporters Stanislau Korshunau (Brestskaya Gazeta and TUT.BY) and Maksim Khliabets («Brestskaya Gazeta »).
The journalists were taken to the Leninski district police department and released after 3 hours of detention.
Novy Chas journalist Yana Trusila was detained near Kamennaya Horka in Minsk. At first, colleagues and relatives couldn’t find Yana.
Later they learned that she had been taken to the Leninsky district police department and transferred to Akrestsina detention center. She is charged with participating in an unauthorized protest (article 23.34 of the Administrative Code). She should be tried no later than three days after her detention.
Two weeks ago, Yana Trusila was released from jail after a 13-day arrest (she was detained while covering the protest on November 1).
Also, the police detained freelancer Inna Dabratvor. She was taking pictures during the protest when she was detained near Mahiliouskaya metro station. .
She was transferred from Zavodski police station to Akrestsina detention center, and charged with participating in an unauthorized protest (article 23.34 of the Administrative Code). Inna Dabratvor should be tried no later than three days after her detention.
