Journalist Dzianis Nosau detained for 15 days over sharing a post
16 April 2024
He appeared in a video published in the Sixth Region pro-regime Telegram channel.
The journalist said he was detained because he had been forwarding “extremist materials” to his contacts on Telegram since 2020. He claimed to have been subscribed to “extremist” channels to be “aware of what is going on” after the full-scale war in Ukraine started.
In the video, Dzianis Nosau also says he will be sent to a temporary detention facility as a punishment for his actions. Mediazona informs he was sentenced to 15 days for sharing “extremist materials” (Article 19.11 of the Administrative Offenses Code).
