  • Belsat Again Applies for Accreditation

On March 21, the TV channel Belsat repeatedly applied for accreditation in Belarus.

«This time we filed the application for accreditation of not the whole correspondent point, but rather of separate correspondents and cameramen. The documents have been compiled according to legislation, so there are no formal grounds to decline,» says the official representative of the TV channel Aliaksei Minchonak.

The channel has already received three refusals to accredit the correspondent point in Minsk. It was a vicious circle: last time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs argued that the channel’s employees had already violated the law by working without accreditation.

The Belsat TV satellite channel has broadcast since December 10, 2007. It is a unit of the Polish TV, its editorial office is based in Warsaw, however most materials relate to Belarus.
