  • Ex-press.by texts declared extremist

Viasna HRC reported that the prosecutor of the Barysau District filed a petition to the court to recognize the information products posted on the ex-press.by website as extremist.

According to the agency, “content aimed at inciting social hatred and enmity is regularly posted on this resource. It contains invariably false information about the political, economic, social, military, and international situation of the Republic of Belarus and the legal status of its citizens, which discredits the country.”

Barysau District Court granted the prosecutor’s claim in full and allowed immediate execution of the ruling.

A copy of the ruling was sent to the Ministry of Information for taking measures to restrict access to these information products and similar resources, as well as their distribution in the Belarusian Internet segment.
