  • Photographer Aivar Udrys on trial in Hlybokaye

    Pho­tog­ra­ph­er Aivar Udrys was arrest­ed along with oth­er res­i­dents of Hly­bokaye dur­ing a raid by law enforce­ment offi­cials a few days ago. This was revealed in a video clip post­ed by the police on their Telegram chan­nel on 19 Sep­tem­ber.

    The footage fea­tur­ing the pho­tog­ra­ph­er in the police sta­tion appeared at the end of a video clip post­ed on the Telegram chan­nel Kni­ga GU Baza report­ing the deten­tions of Hly­bokaye res­i­dents.

    On 19 Sep­tem­ber, Aivar Udrys was brought before the Hly­bokaye Dis­trict Court on charges of “vio­lat­ing the order to hold a mass event”. The case was heard by Judge Andrei Tara­se­vich. The out­come of the admin­is­tra­tive case is still unknown.

    Aivar Udrys has a small pho­tog­ra­phy stu­dio in Hly­bokaye and has par­tic­i­pat­ed in var­i­ous nation­al pho­tog­ra­phy com­pe­ti­tions.

    Dur­ing the police raid in Hly­bokaye, around 10 peo­ple were arrest­ed, includ­ing well-known pub­lic activists in the town.
