The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs recognized Vesniki, "a group of citizens united on social media and distributing regional printed publications" as an extremist formation.
The underground press network has been issuing printed DIY newspapers in all regional centers in Belarus, as well as in some Minsk neighborhoods. The publications started as a response to the avalanche of state propaganda after the 2020 protest and aimed at informing people who do not have access to online media about the latest social and political developments in Belarus.
